Celebrating one of the greatest and largest aircraft ever built, the Bremont H-4 Hercules watch encapsulates Howard Hughes’ vision and his passion for reaching to the stars with a flying boat that would set records in history and remain amongst the most iconic historical legacies in British aviation craftsmanship to date. The timepiece includes original pieces of Birchwood taken from the fuselage of the powerful H-4 aircraft…..
The Bremont H-4 Hercules timepiece is limited to just 300 stainless steel models worldwide, 74 rose gold designs and 75 platinum pieces. Its design harkens back to the 1940’s style pilot’s timepieces available during this iconic era and keeps precision timing thanks to a beautifully manufactured in-house movement that has been hand assembled and hand arranged by expert watchmakers and technicians working at the company’s Henley-on-Thames design facilities.
What makes the Bremont H-4 Hercules watch so unique is that it is powered by the 25 jewel BWC/02 movement which comprises a GMT function, as well as hours, minutes and a smaller non-hacking seconds feature at 9 o’clock. The rotor of each limited edition timepiece is constructed from original Birch wood from the H-4 Hercules aircraft itself, which has been carefully incorporated into the propeller blade. At a performance of 28, 800 vibrations per hour, that movement provides a very impressive 50 hour power reserve, enabling you to take the watch off and alternate with another Bremont favourite from your collection if you so wish, and of course, return to the watch to appreciate its ability to have kept perfect timing all the while.
The barrel bridge and train bridge of the Bremont H-4 Hercules steel watch are crafted from galvanised NAC (Nickel Anthracite Coating) in addition to the balance cock. Having such a high performance movement equipped at the heart of a limited edition Bremont watch that actually features an original piece of history within its incredibly rare design, is a privileged element to luxury watch collecting. Many watch connoisseurs from all over the world have fallen in love with Bremont’s very authentic approach to producing these beautiful British thoroughbreds. The brothers have dedicated years to refining the art of British watchmaking, and by combining these skills with a passion and expertise for the aviation industry (alas finishing each timepiece with a slice of history) - they have acquired a skill that has come to define the manufacturer for what it is today - a skill that sets Bremont apart from other watchmakers within the industry.
The Bremont H-4 Hercules watch features a black metal dial with polished applied indexes and Super-LumiNova coated hands that make time reading effortless in incredibly awkward lighting conditions. The 24 hour marked dial ring and brushed nickel calendar disc add vintage character to the watch and are paired beautifully with the brown tones of a vintage calf leather strap equipped with a simple stainless steel pin buckle for dressing the wrist the traditional way. An anti reflective sapphire crystal glass front and an integrated flat crystal back permit a clear view into the dial along with the performance of the Bremont movement. The case of the Bremont H-4 Hercules watch is developed from the company’s patented three-piece Trip-Tick construction – a design that Bremont intended to exude a real aerospace and engineered feel. Integrated with 100 meter water resistant capability, the 43mm watch is the perfect companion for business, leisure and travel.
The Hercules H-4 watch of course, means a great deal to the Bremont brothers. Not only does it combine a rare and complex mix of materials blended together to create a limited number of timepieces, but it once again links in nicely with Nick and Giles’ passion for aviation equipment.
