Our Chosen Charity for 2025

Children’s Heart Surgery Fund (CHSF)

At Berry's Jewellers, we believe in giving back. Each year, we proudly support a charitable organisation whose work has a meaningful and lasting impact on the lives of others. This year, we are honoured to support the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund (CHSF), a remarkable charity that plays a vital role in supporting individuals living with congenital heart disease (CHD).
CHSF is dedicated to empowering patients of all ages throughout their lifelong journey with CHD – from newborn babies to children, teenagers, and adults. Their work centres around the Leeds Congenital Heart Unit (LCHU), one of the leading facilities in the UK for congenital cardiac care.
Every year, babies born with heart conditions across Yorkshire, North Derbyshire, North Lincolnshire and the Humber are brought to LCHU for urgent, and often life-saving, treatment. Some are just days or even hours old when they begin their medical journey.
CHSF goes beyond medical support. They offer a holistic family support service, helping families cope with the emotional, practical and financial challenges that often accompany a CHD diagnosis. From providing accommodation near the hospital to offering well-being and financial assistance, and funding life-saving medical equipment and additional NHS staffing, CHSF ensures that patients and their families are never alone during their most difficult times.
We are incredibly proud to partner with this charity, whose compassion and dedication positively impact the lives of many. Throughout the year, we will be working to raise awareness and support for CHSF’s vital mission.
Together, with your help, we can make a meaningful difference.

Making a Difference Together

Our Commitment to CHSF We’re supporting the incredible work of the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund throughout 2025.

A Special Donation for a Meaningful Cause.  As part of our ongoing support for the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund, we are delighted to have donated a genuinely exquisite piece for auction at this year’s Caddick Construction Limited Charity Ball.
The piece – an 18ct white gold pendant featuring a pink sapphire and diamond – has been carefully chosen for this special occasion. Combining timeless elegance with vibrant beauty, the pendant features a captivating pink sapphire at its heart, framed by brilliant-cut diamonds and set in luxurious 18ct white gold. It is a symbol of both grace and strength – qualities that echo the spirit of the families supported by CHSF.
Some of the proceeds raised from the auction will be donated directly to the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund, helping to provide life-saving medical equipment, vital family support services, and accommodations for parents during some of their most challenging days.
We are honoured to contribute to this incredible cause and to stand alongside CHSF and Caddick Construction in making a lasting difference.

Supporting the CHSF Wellbeing Trolley: Get Involved

Wellbeing Trolley

In addition to our fundraising efforts, we’re proud to be supporting the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund Wellbeing Trolley. This thoughtful initiative brings comfort and small moments of joy to patients and their families during their time on the ward.
The trolley is regularly stocked with items such as tea, biscuits, toys, colouring books, and other essentials that help lift spirits and provide a welcome distraction during challenging times.
To support this initiative, we have placed donation boxes in each of our stores, where both staff and customers are invited to contribute new items suitable for parents and children. These donations will be regularly delivered to the ward to help keep the trolley well-stocked and ready to bring a smile to those who need it most.
If you would like to participate, simply visit any of our stores and add your item to the donation box. Every small gesture helps make a big difference.

Stepping Up for CHSF: Our Yorkshire Dales Charity Walk

As part of our continued efforts to support the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund, we’re thrilled to announce our annual charity walk – a true highlight of the year that brings our team together for a meaningful cause.
This year’s route is a spectacular 17-mile trek through the Yorkshire Dales, taking in the breath-taking beauty of Aysgarth Falls – a location steeped in natural charm and famously featured in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves and numerous television series.
The walk is scheduled to take place on Sunday, 7th September, with an early start at 8:00 a.m., and is expected to last approximately eight hours. It’s a full-day event that promises not only stunning scenery and great camaraderie but also a powerful sense of purpose.
We’re proud to have a record 29 staff members participating this year – our largest group yet – all walking in support of the incredible work CHSF does for families facing congenital heart disease.
Stay tuned for updates, photos and fundraising milestones as we lace up our boots and take on the challenge together!
