More on Montblanc Pens
A unique combination of storytelling, preservation and elegance come together to shape MontBlanc's success. MontBlanc pens are designed to weather with the age of its owner, sharing each individual's unfolding story as he or she proceeds in life. MontBlanc began their journey as far back 1908 when their new pen design promised improved functionality, featuring a built-in ink well, and was followed by the Rouge et Noir safety fountain pen. However, it was not until the name MontBlanc was registered as a trademark in 1910 that they were truly rewarded for their recognition of high quality, technically improved fountain pens. The star emblem which represents the snow covered peak of Mont Blanc itself, still serves as a promise of reliability and quality to the consumer. In 1924 the Meisterstück marked the beginning of MontBlanc's writing culture, forever shaping the way that sibling industries looked at engineering and cutting edge technology.
The MontBlanc Meisterstück 149 fountain pen collection was launched in 1952. Its perfect, timeless design, embodies many characteristics true to the brand's proud craftsmanship skills. The 60 Line collection of MontBlanc fountain pens was soon to follow just three years later, and in the year of 1986 - the MontBlanc Meisterstück Solitaire Collection (a metal version of the original Meisterstück) was introduced. The next decade saw the launch of limited edition pieces and the opening of many boutiques worldwide. In the year of 2000, the MontBlanc Boheme pen collection was born - a luxury handmade innovation, created using the same traditional methods, yet with a modern, stylish and timeless aesthetic. The "Meisterstück Sports" watch collection, consisting of 7 different designs was then launched. Each distinct design offered a ruggedness and a robustness that proved fundamental in its success.
In 2003, the MontBlanc Starwalker came to the fingers of the younger writing enthusiasts, who fell instantly in love with its purist, professional and clean aesthetics. MontBlanc have also partnered with UNICEF on a number of occasions to help support the worldwide issue of illiteracy. In 2004 the luxury gift brand auctioned off an exclusive collection of written statements created by celebrities using the MontBlanc Meisterstück 149 fountain pen. The money raised from the auction went towards supporting the work of UNICEF. In 2009 MontBlanc reinforced their ongoing commitment and support to UNICEF with donations made from their prestigious Signature For Good collection.
