More on Hublot Watches
Hublot’s very first watch design was inspired by a ship’s porthole and featured the now-iconic screws on the bezel that have gone on to define Hublot watches in a very prominent way. The company also produces its own proprietary materials such as King Gold - a yellow gold and ceramic alloy that melds the luxurious and sumptuous finish of yellow gold with the superior scratch resistance of ceramic. Other watch cases have been crafted from sapphire crystal, textile, titanium, carbon and even concrete.
Despite all Hublot watches conveying a very powerful and dramatic presence on the wrist, each watch collection can be appreciated for its different style. Hublot Classic Fusion watches, for example, are the tamest and most refined of all. The classic sports watch collection houses minute repeaters and tourbillons amongst its top models, adopting some modern aesthetics from the Hublot Big Bang Watch line and softening them to create a more elegant style. One key advantage of a men’s Hublot Classic Fusion watch is its versatility to pair with almost any style of attire. The most collectable models from the Hublot Classic Fusion watch collection are those showcasing highly complex movements, but there are also many sporty chronographs and simple, affordable watches ranging from 33mm to 45mm in diameter that make great daily beaters for men and women alike.
The Hublot Big Bang watch collection is where some of the Classic Fusion watches take inspiration from. It is, without argument, the brand’s flagship collection, bringing a sense of size and heft to the wrist in masculine proportions reaching up to 45mm. Within this series is the collectable Unico Ferrari watch inspired by the dashboard of a sports car and the Sang Bleu watch, notable for its geometric design and overlapping polygons that replace the hands. One of the largest sub-categories of the Hublot Big Bang watch collection is the Unico series. These models are powered by an in-house developed automatic movement that comprises a total of 330 individual components. Its modular design enables a range of complications to be added to its architecture, like a flyback chronograph and GMT function.
Lastly, the Hublot Spirit of Big Bang watch series can be picked out from a room for its striking barrel-shaped case. Those with a skeletonised dial convey a sense of extravagance, putting on show the intricate arrangement and meticulously decorated finishes of one of Hublot’s in-house movements. Hublot watches from this series are crafted from a broad range of materials including King Gold, Magic Gold, sapphire crystal and carbon fibre. This range, although predominantly geared towards men also offers a range of Hublot ladies' watches that sit comfortably against the female wrist thanks to their subtly domed case shape.
