The OMEGA Speedmaster Moonwatch Apollo XVII Anniversary Edition is a watch steeped in history and prestige. The Swiss watch company have crafted the case of the watch from solid 18ct yellow gold which creates a beautiful contrast against the deep blue colour of the dial and matching ceramic bezel. 18ct yellow gold hands and hour batons have also been used, along with the tachymeter scale and chronograph dials. The God Apollo and the moon is etched in gold on the 9 o’clock scale, whilst the chronograph hours and minutes remain uncluttered and crisp. The back of the yellow gold case has been engraved with lettering that reads “45th ANNIVERSARY", "APOLLO XVII”- an ode to Cernan and his final steps made on the moon at 05.34 GMT back in 1972.
