More on Nomos Glashutte Metro Watches
As an official stockist of Nomos Metro watches, these cosmopolitan designs make up one of our most popular creations within the Nomos hemisphere. The designs are generously proportioned and promote easy time reading thanks to a clean and simple dial layout. The tips of the hands on each dial of a Nomos Glashutte Metro watch are reminiscent of the Empire state building and the meticulous diamond knurling on the crown is delicate, mirroring the watchmaking tools used at the benches of the design studios within the company's head quarters.
The very first metro to be designed by Nomos comprised of mint and red detailing to the dial as well as a large date display, a power reserve indicator and minute markers around the periphery of the dial. As the collection expanded, new dial colours were introduced, albeit under the same exquisite sapphire crystal glass lens which is domed in shape. The dials vary from the classic white silver plates, to a rich midnight blue, but also include champagne and urban grey for something a little more unusual. The minute markers along the edge of the dial as mentioned before, are a classic feature of the Nomos Metro watch, showing time on the dot for those gentlemen who like a timepiece that demonstrates precision and clarity.
The Metro Neomatik Nachtblau 35 Automatic watch for example, is powered via the impeccable DUW 3001 movement. It promotes exceptional timekeeping thanks to a fitted swing system and 27 jewels. The movement is made in-house at Nomos Glashutte, offering the gentleman an impressive 42 hour power reserve. The surface of the watch consists of a midnight blue dial adorned with subtle green and orange detailing seen around the minute track and the small second sub-scale. This Nomos Metro Neomatik watch is perfect for those who like to attract attention for their fine taste in luxury wristwatches.
For something a little more understated, the Nomos Metro 38 Datum watch with an urban grey dial features a date aperture at 6 o'clock as well as a small second scale. The mint green dots on the dial account for every quarter of an hour, whilst the red coated small second hand adds further colour to the design. This innovation oozes character, yet it still maintains a faithfulness to traditional Nomos watch manufacture. A beautiful blue tempered balance spring can be viewed via a sapphire crystal glass exhibition caseback, and the timepiece is fitted on a comfortable black Horween Genuine Shell Cordovan strap, with a simple stainless steel buckle to match the design of the case and lugs.
