More on Chopard Mille Miglia Watches
Whether it be their intricately crafted movements, technical features, unique dimensions, or the quality of their materials - Mille Miglia watches from Chopard are all about mapping the road ahead to success as well as demonstrating those roots well-travelled by the company to get to where they are today. Chopard have been partnering with Mille Miglia since 1988, where they have produced a special limited edition timepiece to mark each year since they became official timekeepers for the annual racing event. Chopard Mille Miglia watches set benchmarks for other watches within the luxury watch industry. Their racing track-inspired timepieces are inspirational, not to mention crafted from some of the highest quality materials available. As is sometimes the case with legendary racing cars, a selection of Chopard’s finest Mille Miglia watches have retained some core design elements that were used in some of the first watches from the collection. It is these elements which have helped to shape the identity of this sport-infused collection. Most of the models from the range are chronographs with legible tachymeter scales and luminescent coated appliques which enhance dial legibility.
As an official UK stockist of Chopard Mille Miglia watches here at Berry’s, we are proud to offer some of the company’s most recent and most striking timepieces from the collection. With dials that evoke the look of a dashboard and black rubber straps that mirror the look and feel of tyre treads, there are so many characteristics to love about this iconic design - especially by those with an interest in vintage racing cars or sporty luxury wristwatches. The collection boasts a number of firsts from the Maison, including their first mechanical movement in 1990 which drove a steel split-second pocket chronograph. 1997 marked the year of Chopard’s first self winding mechanical movement and the start of their annual limited editions. It is also worth pointing out that all Chopard Mille Miglia limited edition watches are COSC certified.
The mushroom push pieces were launched into this range in the year 2013, as well as the re-introduction of red colour which has since been injected into the dials. Both of these characteristics can be seen in the Chopard Mille Miglia 2017 Race 44mm watch, limited to just 1000 pieces worldwide. The red rim on the bezel highlights the detailed tachymeter scale, along with the central hands of the 30 minutes chronograph sub-dial at 12 o’clock and the 12 hours chronograph sub-dial at 6 o’clock. The timepiece is incredibly bold and dynamic - the chunky luminescent coated central hands helping to enhance readability during the night or in low-light conditions. The timepiece is powered by an ultra-reliable in-house manufactured self-winding mechanical movement with an impressive 48 hours power reserve. Likewise, the Chopard Mille Miglia 46mm Race limited edition watch with a black dial from our collection, is a slightly more classic-looking timepiece. It features grey chronograph sub-scales which make for a gorgeous contrast against the black background, along with subtle splashes of the same sporty red hue and a traditional-looking brown leather strap. The polished stainless steel push pieces are designed to evoke the look of engine pistols and facilitate easy operation of the chronograph dials, whilst the large white Arabic numeral hour markers are both distinct and eye-catching.
