TAG Heuer Releases from Watches and Wonders 2022

To mark another year of exciting releases by TAG Heuer, the Swiss watchmaker pushes the limits once again with a slew of new models that incorporate leading-edge technologies, Avant-Garde design, and precision timekeeping.

These new TAG Heuer watch releases for Watches and Wonders 2022 include an Aquaracer watch that uses sunlight as its power source, a Classic Carrera adorned with scintillating lab-grown diamonds, a new vibrant Orange Diver watch from the Aquaracer Professional 300 series, a boundary-pushing 1000-meter water-resistant titanium Aquaracer Superdiver watch, and a new collaborative effort with Gulf in the form of the iconic Monaco watch. Last but not least there’s a new Connected Calibre E4 watch to add to TAG Heuer’s already-successful line of smartwatches – this time with more golf-oriented features than ever seen before. Let’s get started…

The TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300 Orange Diver watch

To kick off TAG Heuer’s new Watches and Wonders 2022 releases, we’ll start with the new Aquaracer Professional 300 Orange Diver – an adrenaline-fuelled, tough and vibrant orange-coloured dive watch from TAG’s recently redesigned Aquaracer Professional 300 watch line. It comes with all the new characteristics of the TAG Heuer Aquaracer's redesigned architecture and dial. These include the horizontally striped dial pattern, the cyclops date feature at 6, the 12-sided black ceramic unidirectional rotating bezel, a broad 43mm diameter and an aesthetic inspired by the much earlier 844 reference from the company’s historical catalogue. Certain to stand out amongst the deep dark ocean, TAG Heuer has chosen this vivid orange dial, generously treating the hands and hour markers with Super-LumiNova. In addition to this, this watch ticks all the criteria outlined by TAG Heuer in a superior dive watch, including a double folding safety clasp on the buckle, a sapphire crystal glass front, and a screw-down crown. The TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300 Orange Dive watch is powered by the Calibre 5 which delivers a 38-hour power reserve and the watch secures comfortably around the wrist with a robust polished and brushed stainless steel bracelet.

The TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 1000 Superdiver watch

TAG Superdiver

Fitted with a chronometer-rated movement and ISO-rated, the TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 1000 Superdiver watch - with its impressive 1000-meter water resistance and superior dive-related features - is a rugged and reliable tool watch for professional divers. Built for serious underwater exploration, the model is crafted from lightweight titanium and creates a huge wrist presence with its broad 45mm diameter. The confident dive tool uses vibrant splashes of orange to highlight the second hand, the minute hand and the first 15 minutes of the watch’s unidirectional rotating bezel (designed to move only in the counter-clockwise direction to erase the risk of accidentally extending dive time whilst under the water). In addition to this, its new COSC-certified Calibre TH30-00 offers an impressive 70-hour power reserve, extending the watch’s international warranty by up to five years. The new TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 1000 Superdiver watch features a thicker anti-reflective sapphire crystal glass front, which creates a subtle vintage box-style finish, whilst at night a mix of different lume colours helps to differentiate the elements on the dial. The hour markers and hour hand illuminate in a rich green glow, whilst the minute hand and the bezel markers glow in a turquoise colour. The watch is completed with a helium escape valve and a titanium bracelet.

The TAG Heuer Carrera Plasma Tourbillon watch

The new TAG Heuer Carrera Plasma watch marks another major milestone in the manufacturer’s heritage. Boasting boundless creativity, this disruptive design plays with light, excelling in technical excellence with a pioneering advancement in lab-grown diamond technology. A sandblasted anodized aluminium case with a polycrystalline diamond dial plate is combined with a crown crafted entirely from diamond. To achieve this striking design, a rhodium-plated brass base with a polycrystalline diamond finish amounting to a carat weight of 3.9ct is used, along with additional lab-grown diamonds placed on 18ct white gold structures for the hour markers. The chronograph sub-counters placed on this shimmering dial are crafted from polycrystalline black diamond amounting to 0.25ct each, surrounded by a brass ring with a black opaline finish. Using CVD technology, crystals can now be grown from a single seed that is then exposed to certain gases before plasma is ignited by high powered microwave radiation. This converts gases into radicals containing atom carbons needed in the growth of an eventual crystal. TAG Heuer combines this new cutting edge Diamant d'Avant-Garde technology with a 44mm case, a satin-finished black ceramic fixed tachymeter bezel, a domed anti-reflective and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass front, and ADLC coated stainless steel push-pieces. To top it off, inside the new TAG Heuer Carrera Plasma watch is the Calibre Heuer 02T tourbillon manufacture, featuring an open heart feature shown at 6 o’clock on the dial, a hairspring made of carbon composite, and a power reserve of 65 hours.

The TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200 Solargraph watch

The TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200 Solargraph watch marks yet another pivotal milestone in TAG Heuer’s manufacture. It incorporates the first “Eco-Drive” solar-powered technology to be used in Switzerland and TAG Heuer’s first-ever solar-powered movement. Unveiled at Watches and Wonders 2002, the new TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200 Solargraph watch got everyone talking with its black DLC-coated stainless steel case and striking black carbon bezel, filled with meandering ribbons of green Super-LumiNova designed to imitate the ridges and veins of rock formations. On top of this, the markings on the bezel are also luminous, making this a perfect watch for outdoor exploration, even during the night. The new solar-powered Calibre TH50-00, developed for TAG by La Joux-Perret, receives its energy through a partially translucent dial, requiring only two minutes in full sunlight to keep the watch running for a whole day. Other features of the new, innovative solar-powered TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200 Solargraph watch include a black dial with legible white hour markers and hands, a light blue second hand and minute hand, a luminous green-glowing hour hand and hour markers, a 40mm 200-meter water-resistant case, a sapphire crystal glass top, and a black integrated rubber strap with a twin trigger clasp.

The TAG Heuer Monaco Gulf Special Edition

Lastly, TAG Heuer has collaborated with Gulf to produce this new striking Edition of the Monaco watch complete with a twist in the colour scheme used for the dial along with the company’s in-house Heuer 02 movement. The iconic square-shaped Monaco will never tire of its dashing motorsport-inspired looks and that becomes even more obvious when you look at the design of the new Monaco Gulf Special Edition. The design of the watch tastefully ties together the links between TAG Heuer, Gulf, the Le Mans events that ran between the 1960s and 1970s and, of course, Steve McQueen himself with this striking new edition. For this design, the chronograph minute counter has been decorated in all three colours of the Gulf logo for the first time, whilst the all-white Gulf logo above the small second scale at 6 o’clock also makes its premiere. The dial’s blue opaline and sunray finish create a stunning background for contrasting turquoise, white and orange accents. A silver opaline 30-minute counter sits at 3 o’clock in turquoise and orange accents, balanced by a silver 12-hour totaliser at 9 o’clock. Both counters mirror the square profile of the Monaco’s case. The display also features a small second counter at 6 o’clock, a vivid orange chronograph seconds hand, and an oversized 60 numeral at the top of the dial. The new TAG Heuer Monaco Gulf Special Edition watch is completed on a redesigned dark blue perforated rubber strap with alsavel orange lining. The new edition is also powered by the Calibre HEUER02 automatic movement with a specially engraved column wheel and a personalised oscillating mass that can be admired through the watch’s sapphire crystal exhibition caseback.
