To mark our 125th anniversary, we commemorate five generations of authentic British jewellery design with our new OPEIA jewellery collection – a celestial-inspired range of elegant jewellery creations crafted from 18ct white gold and platinum. Running throughout this celebratory collection is a strong focus on family, depicted by the repeated shape of the classic circle, infused with bursts of light inspired by shooting stars and formed by the timeless round brilliant-cut diamond acting as a comet in motion across the night sky
Designed by one of Berry’s in-house designers, Emily Rose, the OPEIA collection draws inspiration from the five generations of the Berry’s family who have run the business since its first store opened in 1897. This theme runs through each design, with Emily taking inspiration from the night sky. The final portfolio is inspired by shooting stars, comets and other cosmic phenomena that are brought to life in the flowing designs of the range, which is named after the constellation of Cassiopeia.
This anniversary collection comprises of 10 pieces: the showstopping OPEIA necklace, a small and large pendant, a pair of drop and stud earrings, three rings, a bangle and a bracelet.
Designer Emily Rose says of the new collection,
The collection is contemporary, yet timeless, with a focus on creating wearable pieces that will stand the test of time and celebrate the company’s most important milestone to date.
The OPEIA collection is designed to capture attention, with flowing, curved designs adorned with diamonds for that showstopping lustre.’
With Berry’s heritage, the theme of ‘family’ was a central concept in the collection, from mood board to final design. ‘OPEIA’ takes its name from Cassiopeia, a five-point constellation in the shape of a W, which is a nod to the Walton family who have run Berry’s for five generations.
Simon Walton, Managing Director of Berry’s, comments:
OPEIA is without a doubt a beautiful collection and one befitting of such an anniversary for Berry’s. It is testament to Emily and her team’s skills that the pieces are so arresting and we’re sure they will draw a lot of attention.
“To make 125 years is a sign of celebration, we wanted to mark it by producing something that our clients can celebrate with us.
The unveiling of this new range marks our 125th year in the business, and of this we are extremely proud. We look forward to showing the new pieces off in stores nationwide!
Chairman Jeffrey Walton adds:
“If my mother- and father-in-law would have thought that we’d be here after 125 years, they would have been amazed. So, we want to enjoy every second of this, and we want everyone to enjoy it with us.
