The realization of Spring Drive became possible due to the rare expertise of Grand Seiko, as they possess mastery in both electronic and mechanical watchmaking. Similar to other mechanical watches, Spring Drive derives its power from a mainspring. This traditional method of energy generation enables the watch to be entirely self-sustaining, eliminating the need for a battery or external power source.
